i absolutely love pokemon! beyond appreciating the standard game experience (which is always peak imho - my pokemon are my friends!!!), i also enjoy shiny hunting and taking on various challenges.

i post most of my notable shiny hunts on my tumblr blog, so you can find information about them all there regardless of the methods and/or over-arching challenges which they may be a part of.• my very first full-odds shiny hunt ✦
baby's very first full-odds shiny hunt! prior to taking on this hunt, i was a strict method hunter (i.e. i used ways of improving my odds in order to find shinies). this hunt changed my approach to shiny hunting forever and i look back on it with a ton of fondness! i took it on in a virtual console version of pokemon crystal, which meant i had a 1/8192 chance of running into a shiny!• my first ribbon master, reides the kingdra ✦
in what was probably the most extensive deep-dive i ever took into the pokemon games, i took on the ribbon master challenge, which entailed getting every possible in-game ribbon and mark on one (1) pokemon. i chose a shiny horsea for this challenge, which i rng hunted for in emerald version. this was an absolutely massive undertaking, and so there is one post per generation. long live reides the kingdra!!!• my alpha sapphire badge quest ✦
i caught one shiny pokemon before each badge in my copy of alpha sapphire! i used a mix of both full odds and method hunts in this challenge. since alpha sapphire is a modern generation, my odds of running into a shiny at full odds were 1/4096!• my leafgreen badge quest ✦
i caught one shiny pokemon before each badge in leafgreen! methods were also not available for these hunts AND leafgreen is an older gen with a slimmer chance of running into shinies, so i had a 1/8192 chance of finding each and every one of the shinies in this challenge.
at the moment, i am taking on a silver team challenge. silver is my favourite pokemon character of all time, so i figured that i would devote my copy of heartgold to catching full odds shinies of all his game universe pokemon! progress on this challenge can be found in my tumblr tag for it atm.
